Orion’s welcome smile, illume the winter sky

In pre-dawn stillness, there is peace

Humbled in wonder, with child like eyes

Warm breath enfold this velvet Stoic cold

Face turned skyward, soft grace lies in silence

Seeing beauty differently, now as I grow old

As One

What I once thought, I never was

Whom I once believed, has shattered

The fabric of the delusion I had built

Lies shredded, torn and tattered

Through holes in a broken reality

Rises the view behind the scene

Shards whose edges no longer fit

From that which has always been

The Play

This back shall not break nor bend and sway

Life’s burdens borne along the way

With knowing smile, a kind word to say

Accepting this role within the play

This is our story, we enact it with soul

One very small part of the greater whole

Often losing sight for some shallow goal

Lest we forget, this is just a role
