Full Circle

900_An old man returning home

We search, always seeking
Along this path before us
A lifetime, step by step
No map in our hand

Detours and byways
Rest stops are few
A lifetime, step by step
No matter our plan

Maybe one day we see
We never really left home
A lifetime, step by step
And yet here we still stand

Coming full circle.

In Due Time

vp3nJw

Years are but grains of sand
On an never ending beach
Eventually washed away
Tides of life ever changing
Yet I remain on distant shores
Ever to remember home

Tides set adrift, drifting apart
In the flow without direction
Currents know the reason
Trust and surrender to it all
Resistance suffers no cause
Returning home in due season

Only Words

corona-del-mar-tide-pools-1024x683

Hearing words, they are but sound
Shallow pools in an oceans depths
Tidal whispers silence the roar of waves

In tidal pools, life is small
Struggle, to breath sometimes

Striving to live life diminished
Yet the source is near
If we could but remember

In tidal pools life is small
The oceans depths are always near

Paths

Until my last breath
My last gasp
I will be here
Trying to explain

The simplicity
We have lost
In the mêlée
We maintain

And to say Adieu
As I go from here
I will shed no tear
As I will see you soon.

Seeds

In secret places seeds may fall
Fertile soil beyond the wall
Planted in time they will grow
Yet we may never know

Anger’s weeds are fast to bloom
Fear allows the growing room
Shame to feed the subtle shoots
Pride digs deep its roots

Slowly sometimes roses bloom
Pushing up from the tomb
Vines climb from deep within
Atop a wall to begin again
