Living On The Surface

surface

How much was my deposit?
My life a week older
How better off am I?
As I get older

What are the means?
Of living here
When what I give
Causes more fear

I am tired now
Please let me rest
Give a little time now
I will be my best

I finally see now
What it all means
Spending a lifetime
For others means.

Finite Lines

seneca

From here to there
Life seems
Beginnings to ends
Stitched seams

We were, and are
Then not
It always seems
Lives forgot

From one to another
We dream
For another’s hope
Life leans

Unbalanced World

Peaceful

Where what is taken
Means more than given
Where gain is more
Than sacrifice

Where another is less
And then forsaken
Where keeping score
Becomes the price

Where love when tallied
Means what is breaking
And Love costs more
Than the sacrifice

A Word On Words

lead_large

I speak, and a past floods
From your ears to a memory
Your past accessed
Yours not mine

You nod in understanding
A thought of your own, in time
A unique perspective
That was never mine

I talk and you listen
But mouth to ears are veiled
Until time and memories stop
When we are the same

When words are not needed

Healing

A sigh revealed

Too long covered

Virtue and sin

Melded to one

Earth and sky

Taste of life

And knowing is

The return of love

Just An Explanation

Preface:

I am a man of few words

Often trying to point

Trying to explain in staccato

Words may confuse

Often obtuse, without reference

Unless known, or felt

So now I open the book;

A gentle conversation:

A conversation where more is better

We all seem to be about more:

_/|\_

I see beauty in all things

I see love in what is unloved

To be unloved, means to me

That something was once loved

And remains

I see peace in anger and war

Without either, there is not the other

And I know joy in sorrow

For one cannot be without another

Bound as one

There is no separation in life

Tension lives in opposites

In Life itself, and beyond

And we are here, now

We always were

If I can open my heart to you

Forget the argument, the words

I can maybe see, your side

As we sit here face to face

Open and vulnerable

Though we disagree, we see

I look into your eyes

And you are me, who I was

And I understand

You do not need to

If only I can see clearly

It is enough for now

If only one knows the truth

Others will follow

At least it is a start.

Daily

I see and love

I understand,  I try

Unmoved in my seeing

In the least of these

I do not; I cannot, judge

Every breath a gift

Yet I cannot rest

Even if not for me

Others abound

And I fail into my,”Life.”

My Wants go

My Concerns go

I am for you.

I have always been

For in you, I am

You may be

Someone I know

Or a stranger

You may be Him

How can I know?

And I realize

“You,” are in all

Every touch I give

Every heart I know

I am Yours.
