The Fall

When silence falls upon us all
The need for more creeps

Quietly cancer grows and grows
Never learning while we sleep

In this slumber we may live
To take but never give

When silence falls upon us all
Into cracked dreams life seeps

Quietly truth grows and sows
Seeds of love we may reap

In Due Time

vp3nJw

Years are but grains of sand
On an never ending beach
Eventually washed away
Tides of life ever changing
Yet I remain on distant shores
Ever to remember home

Tides set adrift, drifting apart
In the flow without direction
Currents know the reason
Trust and surrender to it all
Resistance suffers no cause
Returning home in due season

The Demon Within

Never far from the surface
Dwelling in the past
In dank dark places
He awaits a sweet repast

He does not have a conscience
No sense of right or wrong
No limits to his anger
Forgotten for far too long

In rare times of weakness
He ventures to the light
Savage destruction is his goal
Vengeful  damage is his delight

Finally seen in the daylight
Naked in his truest form
Slinking back into his lair
After feeding on the storm

The Dogs Of War

giphy

Release the dogs of war

Literary beasts, teeth rending

The fabric of personal realities

Digested too long, spew forth.

Primal vicissitudes evolved

Transformed by perception, and time

Unleashed, set forth to feed upon

Ravenous souls bereft of direction.

Purpose guide my pens blade

Slash life upon this virgin page

Blood stained truth covering

The lies and banalities of this world.

The Custodians

We were given a gift

The world to command

All Wisdom in our hands

If the World was without us

How would it be less?

We were gifted the One

Self-aware and absorbed

Yet we are so blind

Ego raised to an art

A World set apart

And we raped it all

The world without Man

Nature’s balance

As it was planned

What was the gift

We gave?

What did we offer?

If we never were

Life would have endured

Ensured as designed

Yet we were, we are

Lost in ourselves

Until the bitter end

The Dark Side

Darkness squeeze the light from my soul,

thoughts tainted by shadows of destruction,

day’s sun defeated by sombre gray,

take the joy and lucidity away.

Dwell in the dark dank cave,

primal rage rising, take me now,

banality, in all its instinctive glory,

rend the flesh from the bones of this lifes story.

Victims fall to clever words,

slicing deep, to the bone they bleed,

no match for a lifetime of conflict,

the onslaught, relentless, upon them we inflict.

Weary now of the fight, sleep welcomes the victor,

sleep now; bandage the wounds in dawn’s sanity,

in words our future is forged and formed,

tread lightly or be forever scorned.
